The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mendew takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Mixler throws a combination. Mendew tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Mendew on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Mendew fails with the takedown
and Mendew takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mixler is looking to clinch but Mendew is avoiding it.

Mixler tries to bum rush Mendew with a series of wild strikes but Mendew uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mendew fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mixler sprawls well initially but Mendew persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
