Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Billy Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ulov Nalimov!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Aleksandr Martynov and Viktor Lagutenko.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nalimov misses with a low kick.
Dean misses with a looping left.
A solid leg kick lands there for Dean.
Nalimov looks gassed!
Dean throws a sloppy head kick and Nalimov moves out of range easily.
Dean moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Dean throws out a loose jab but Nalimov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Dean cracks Nalimov with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
It looks like Ulov Nalimov has been cut.
No luck for Dean with that takedown attempt.
Dean lands a nice looking body shot.
Nalimov takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Nalimov takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Dean closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dean lands in his opponent's guard.
Nalimov is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Dean tries to free his leg and advance position but Nalimov is retaining full guard.
Dean working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Nalimov's head.
Nalimov is rocked!
Dean makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Nalimov is still in real trouble! Can Dean finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dean postures up and lands a big shot to Nalimov's brow.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dean loads up on a big left hand. Nalimov felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Dean looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Nalimov can't hide his disappointment, as Dean celebrates the victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Billy Dean!
