PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sid Wilson (ranked 25008 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonh Sinimoy (ranked 6699 p4p, 0 weight class). Jonh Sinimoy is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sid Wilson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonh Sinimoy!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wilson tries to keep at a distance but Sinimoy has taken the fight into the clinch.
Sinimoy looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
A frustrated look appears on Sinimoy's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Sinimoy is looking to break free of the clinch but Wilson has double underhooks.

Wilson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jonh Sinimoy seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Wilson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Sinimoy napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Sinimoy throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
Sinimoy throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Wilson's waist but Wilson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sinimoy off to one side.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Wilson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Sid Wilson.

Wilson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Sinimoy's guard.

Wilson gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Sinimoy is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Wilson dives into side control.
Sinimoy felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Wilson works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Wilson is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Sinimoy is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Wilson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sinimoy knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sinimoy is working to avoid the ground and pound but Wilson connects with a decent elbow.

Wilson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Sinimoy to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wilson closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sinimoy quickly recovers to half guard.
Sinimoy scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Wilson manages to mount him!
Wilson lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

Wilson fails to take his opponent's back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wilson has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Wilson lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Wilson.

Wilson looking to break Sinimoy's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Sinimoy remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Wilson will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Wilson is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Sinimoy up.
Wilson has Sinimoy flattened out and is raining down punches.
Wilson is landing with strikes. Sinimoy can't take much more of this.

Wilson scores with some strikes to the side of the head there. Good, points scoring shots.
Wilson lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Wilson.

Wilson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Sinimoy has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Wilson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.




This is a sustained period of stalling by Wilson.















Wilson is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sinimoy can do to turn this around?














Sid Wilson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.






Wilson continues to hold on tight.

















This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!







Sinimoy is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

Wilson's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Wilson is stinking the place up with his stalling.
























































































Sinimoy might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Wilson haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wilson seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Sinimoy for as long as he can get away with.
