Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tracy Minaj (ranked 1648 p4p, 196 weight class) and David Carter (ranked 2241 p4p, 248 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tracy Minaj! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, David Carter! The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Carter misses with a wild combination.
Carter moves out of range as Minaj strikes. Minaj misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Carter lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Minaj throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Carter counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Minaj slips a jab from Carter. Carter jabs at Minaj's body. Carter misses with a looping left. A big right from Carter misses. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minaj lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Carter circles away quickly and effectively. Minaj walks into a stiff left hand from Carter. Minaj dodges the punch combination from Carter.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter lands with a hook. Minaj tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Carter pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Minaj back to the cage. Carter follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Carter lands with an overhand left. Carter scores with a hook to the body. Minaj takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Carter uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Minaj throws out a powerful jab. Carter uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Minaj. Minaj lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Carter at a distance.
Nice shot lands for Carter. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Minaj. Carter bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Minaj's head backwards. David Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter throws a nice looking combination but Minaj bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Minaj ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Carter moves away. Minaj fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Carter manages to avoid it.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Minaj looks to land a right hand but Carter moved out of range. Minaj fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Carter avoids it really well and circles away. Carter scores with a jab to the body. Carter lands a slapping body shot.

and Carter counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. David Carter is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. A big left from Minaj misses. It seemed like Carter was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Minaj throws a body punch but Carter moves out of range. Minaj throws a right hand that misses
and Carter counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Minaj throws a big shot that misses. Despite the aggression on Carter's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter. Carter throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Minaj is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter misses with a hook. Minaj ducked under it nicely. As Carter tries to get set, Minaj tries to push him back and clinch up but Carter manages to avoid the attempt. Carter misses with an uppercut. Minaj shoots in and gets a takedown into Carter's guard. Carter has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Carter's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Minaj postures up in Carter's guard and throws a big left but Carter blocks it. Minaj scoring with some ground and pound. Minaj has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Carter is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Carter might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Minaj haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Minaj working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Carter's head. Carter controlling Minaj's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Carter looking for a sweep. Not yet Carter, not yet. Minaj is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Carter wants to stand and escape but Minaj is having none of it. Carter has momentary wrist control but Minaj slips an elbow through the middle. Minaj in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Carter can do anything to dispel that myth. Carter working a defensive guard here.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Carter controls Minaj momentarily but Minaj frees himself. Minaj landing with the ground and pound. Carter is trying to keep Minaj in close.

David Carter dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Minaj keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Carter. A little feinted left hand from Minaj on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Minaj displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carter throws out the jab. Minaj misses with a body shot.

Minaj takes a swing at Carter's ribcage but misses. Minaj gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Carter counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. No luck with that takedown attempt from Minaj. Carter avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Minaj bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Minaj misses with the ground and pound. Minaj working the body and head with strikes. Carter manages to get back to half guard. Carter is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Minaj scores with a couple of nice shots. Minaj is nestled in close to Carter, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Carter felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Carter trying to control from the bottom.
Carter wants to get back to full guard. Minaj drops an elbow to the side of Carter's head. Minaj is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. Carter is looking to control Minaj's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Carter avoid being mounted? The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Minaj connects with a nice short shot to Carter's temple. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Minaj lands a nice short elbow. We've been hearing that Minaj has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Carter slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Carter is rocked! Minaj content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Carter is still in real trouble! Can Minaj finish him? The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Minaj scoring with some ground and pound. Minaj postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Carter covers up, he's hurt! Minaj keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Minaj and the ref steps in to end the fight! Minaj can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tracy Minaj! A relieved looking Tracy Minaj thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
