ADWGC 1 PBP Commentary


Coming up we have a featherweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Kron Silva (ranked 993 p4p, 114 weight class) and Ivan Putski (ranked 13818 p4p, 430 weight class). Putski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Aids kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! This should be a great matchup!

This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the featherweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 4 wins and 3 losses; Kron Silva! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 21 wins and 9 losses; Ivan Putski!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Yves DeLean and Gregory Folan.


The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way.

Putski shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Silva tries to roll over but Putski keeps him under control.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Silva tries to roll over but Putski keeps him under control.

Silva tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Silva has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Putski drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Silva manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Putski has Silva in his guard.

Silva got a little sloppy there for a moment and Putski has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Silva has managed to get both his arms back between Putski's legs - danger averted.

Silva drops back, looking for a kneebar! Putski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Putski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Putski!

Silva can't do much from the bottom here.
We've been hearing good reports from Silva's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My spies in Steel's Grappling Penn inform me that Putski has been getting involved in the gym's BJJ sparring sessions. Let's see whether that pays dividends!

Silva wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Putski content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Silva has locked up a guillotine! Silva's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Putski is holding on here and Silva must be using up a lot of energy. Putski has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Silva gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 12:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kron Silva!
A less than humble Kron Silva misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
