Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luther Head (ranked 24521 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Tiger (ranked 6107 p4p, 0 weight class). Luther Head has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luther Head!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, David Tiger!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Tiger prevents a takedown attempt there.
Head wants a takedown.

Head drags the fight down to the ground.
Head is controlling Tiger's posture.
Head throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Head has Tiger pulled in close to control his posture.
Tiger throwing strikes from guard but Head blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tiger prevents Head from getting back to his feet.
Tiger looking to pass the guard.
Head looking for a sweep. Not yet Head, not yet.
Head is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Tiger working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Tiger trying to control but Head is working from the bottom.
Tiger pushes down on Head's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Head is refusing to be controlled, as Tiger sits in half guard.

Tiger is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Head trying to control here.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Head is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Head throws a strike from the bottom but Tiger passes into side control!
Tiger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Head keeps working.
Tiger working away.
Tiger trying to control the position but Head is working away.
Head tries to control but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Head is in all sorts of trouble here.
Tiger can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Head is looking to escape.

Tiger wants to take his opponent's back but Head doesn't allow it.

Tiger gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Tiger scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Tiger looks winded!
Head holds on to Tiger's head and controls the position momentarily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tiger wants to stand but Head is controlling his arm.
Head can't do much from the bottom here.

Tiger is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Head has escaped the position, nice work there.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tiger throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Head's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Head throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Both fighters take a look at the clock.
Head is trying to control Tiger's posture but Tiger avoids it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Head stuck in half guard on the bottom here.
Head striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

David Tiger dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Head shoots in but no luck this time.

Tiger shoots in and bounces Head off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Head is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Tiger wants to break free but Head has control.

Head decides to pull guard.

Tiger decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Head, up you get!

Tiger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tiger is breathing heavily.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Head keeps Tiger under control for a moment.

Tiger decides to stand back up.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tiger throws a sloppy head kick and Head moves out of range easily.
Head is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tiger sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Head shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Tiger tries to kick Head off in order to stand up. Head Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Tiger is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Head is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Tiger reaches up to try and control the position but Head seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Tiger rolls and tries to escape and now Head has his back!
Head is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Tiger up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Head throwing damaging strikes from the back! Tiger could be in trouble here!
Head lands a punch to the side of the head from the back.
You can see the frustration on Tiger's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Head scores with punches from the back.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Head lands an elbow to the side of the head.

Head is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Tiger knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Tiger for a finish.

Head is punishing Tiger with strikes - can he finish him?!
Tiger trying to control the hands but Head breaks the grip.
Head lands punches and elbows.
Head is hanging on to Tiger's back as he tries to escape.

You can see the frustration on Tiger's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Head is working the ground and pound. Can Tiger escape?

Tiger is looking to escape here. Oh dear - Head has locked on a rear naked choke here! Tiger is tapping out! The fight is over!
