The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Popkov has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Sobieski.
Popkov takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Sobieski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Popkov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Sobieski misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Sobieski might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Popkov haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
