The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Ziggs.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Madden enables Ziggs to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Madden manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Madden has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Ziggs has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Ziggs prevents a takedown attempt there.
Madden tries to circle away but Ziggs has him pinned against the cage.
Ziggs has picked Madden up - he's going for a ride! Ziggs dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Madden has one foot on Ziggs's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Madden moves into the clinch.

Ziggs has Madden pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ziggs pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Madden tumbling to the mat - Ziggs dives into Madden's guard.
Madden kicks Ziggs off and gets to his feet.

Ziggs will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Ziggs connects with a high kick.
Ziggs closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Madden tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.

Ziggs is riding his opponent, not letting Madden buck him off.

Madden manages to reverse the position and now he's in Ziggs's guard. Nice work there by Madden.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ziggs is looking for a triangle here but Madden uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.

Madden looks up at the clock and then as Ziggs takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Madden smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Ziggs really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Madden. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Madden accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Madden pulls Ziggs in close to prevent any damage.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Madden has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Ziggs rushes Madden and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Madden pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Taylor Madden is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Madden shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Ziggs napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Madden is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ziggs is trying to escape and Madden transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ziggs is forced to tap! Nice work there by Madden! Very nice indeed!
