Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Raphael Antunes! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
29 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Anthony Pettis! The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Gwen Towbar and Wesley Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Antunes throws a sloppy body shot
enabling Pettis to counter with a crisp jab. Danga de danga de dang - Pettis scores with a four punch combination! Antunes throws a left and a right that both miss
and Pettis counters with a straight right hand. Antunes takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Pettis ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Good standup being displayed there by Pettis as he connects with a hook. Antunes throws a lazy head kick enabling Pettis to counter with a crisp jab. Antunes takes a shot right to the bread basket. It looks like Raphael Antunes has been cut. Antunes takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Antunes misses with a combination
and Pettis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Pettis lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Antunes misses with an uppercut
letting Pettis counter with a right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round. Pettis sizes up Antunes with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Antunes closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so. Antunes throws a lazy head kick and Pettis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Antunes throws a leg kick and Pettis cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. A head kick by Antunes misses and Pettis counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Antunes is rocked! Antunes has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Antunes there as he acknowledges the shot. Oh Antunes is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Pettis throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Antunes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Antunes is breathing heavily. Antunes is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Pettis doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Antunes crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Antunes's bad books for that mishap!
