Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Alex Wright!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Ian Loll.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to score a power double leg takedown but Taamu sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Wright somewhat.

Taamu moves into the clinch.
Taamu lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Wright breaks from the clinch.
Wright has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Taamu is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Wright takes a kick to the side of the head.

It looks like Alex Wright has been cut.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Taamu throws a sloppy head kick and Wright moves out of range easily.
Wright fails with an attempt to clinch.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Taamu.
Taamu blocks a head kick by Wright.

Horrible takedown attempt by Wright or perhaps it was just good defense by Taamu, which made it look bad.
A head kick from Taamu lands but Wright takes it in his stride.
Wright throws a right and a left that both miss.
Taamu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wright shoots and misses
and Taamu counters with a big head kick but Wright shrugs it off.
Tua Taamu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Wright.
Wright shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Taamu defends it nicely.
Taamu feints and then cracks Wright's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Wright down.
Tua Taamu is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

A head kick misses from Taamu.
Taamu throws a quick inside leg kick.
Wright tries to clinch up.
Taamu lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Taamu.
Wright misses with an uppercut. Taamu saw that one coming.
Taamu will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Wright fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Taamu is out of range.
Taamu lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Taamu lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Wright stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Taamu.

Wright dives in for a single leg takedown but Taamu sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Alex Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Taamu lands with a nice body kick.
Wright looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Taamu throws a body kick that misses.
Taamu lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That has opened up Alex Wright's cut even more.
Wright showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Taamu.
Wright throws a sloppy head kick and Taamu moves out of range easily.
Taamu swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Nice jab there from Taamu.
Taamu misses with a body shot.
Wright tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Taamu lands a big head kick that sends Wright tumbling to the mat! Taamu takes a step backwards and waves Wright back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Wright is rocked!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Good leg kick by Taamu there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Wright is still on wobbly legs! Can Taamu finish him?
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Taamu! Wright is out on his feet! Taamu rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Wright is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Wright is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

A victorious Tua Taamu thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
Alex Wright spoke after the fight, saying 'When I sign a contract, I really want to give 180%. And if I can't give that, it's just not fair to the promotion and it's not fair to the fans and it's not fair to myself'.
