Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Van Starr (ranked 7760 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reynold March (ranked 4272 p4p, 0 weight class). Reynold March is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Van Starr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Reynold March!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Cecil Peabody and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Starr throws a nice looking combination but March bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
March lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Starr circles away quickly and effectively.
A slapping leg kick lands for March.
Starr fails to land with a series of punches.
Starr throws a left and a right that both miss
and March counters with a one-two to the body.
March dodges the punch combination from Starr.
A nice side step and March releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Starr throws a combination. March tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Starr with a nice cross.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

March clinches with his opponent.
Starr fails to pull guard.
Starr goes for a takedown attempt but March pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

March closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Starr wants to control but March is keeping busy and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.

March decides to stand up.

March shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Starr napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Starr throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!

Starr wants to get back to his feet but March passes into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Starr gets full guard.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Starr is on top in guard.

March has his hands on Starr's head, controlling the position.

March is continuing to stall.
Starr trying to control but March is working from the bottom.
March trying to control the position here.
Starr not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

March escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Starr wanted to stand there but March had control of the position.
Starr seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

March escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Starr gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Starr is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! March is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! March has escaped and now he's on top!

March postures up and lands a big shot to Starr's brow.
March slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Reynold March will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


March walks into a left hand.
Starr throws a series of punches but March avoids them all with ease.

March changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Starr looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Starr takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
You can see the frustration on Starr's face as March controls the position.
Starr is looking to regain half guard here but March keeps moving and retains side control.

March decides to stand up, so the ref orders Starr to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A combination from Starr does no damage.
Starr throws a right and a left that March avoids nicely.
March drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Starr defends it well.

March closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
March controlling the action here.

Starr moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Starr is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Starr is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! March has his hands clasped together but Starr extends and breaks March's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Starr.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:53 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Van Starr!
