Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dante Fiaschi (ranked 5871 p4p, 516 weight class) and Bob Hauweg (ranked 4820 p4p, 471 weight class). Fiaschi comes to the cage accompanied by ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fiaschi has his takedown stuffed and Fiaschi takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Hauweg stuffs the takedown. Hauweg throws a big shot that misses. Hauweg shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Fiaschi is trying to defend but Hauweg finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Hauweg is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Hauweg working Fiaschi over with strikes. Hauweg with the ground and pound but Fiaschi uses the opportunity to regain guard. Fiaschi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Hauweg is one step ahead there. Fiaschi working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Hauweg. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hauweg accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Hauweg distracts Fiaschi with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hauweg throwing strikes but missing. Hauweg stands up over Fiaschi, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Hauweg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Fiaschi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hauweg postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Hauweg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Fiaschi is keeping the position for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Fiaschi trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Hauweg throwing strikes but missing. Hauweg lands a couple of elbows. Hauweg with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fiaschi working for a triangle but Hauweg defends it easily.
Hauweg keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Fiaschi's head. Hauweg working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Hauweg wants to pass the guard but Fiaschi is keeping the position. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Hauweg is looking to pass into half guard but Fiaschi pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Fiaschi is in guard. Fiaschi is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Fiaschi is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at Westside Martial Arts that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Fiaschi looking to pass the guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hauweg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hauweg pulls Fiaschi in close to prevent any damage. Fiaschi wants to control from the top but Hauweg keeps moving. Fiaschi not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hauweg keeping moving, preventing Fiaschi from controlling successfully.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet. Fiaschi tries to bum rush Hauweg with a series of wild strikes but Hauweg uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Fiaschi does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Fiaschi swinging wildly here.
Hauweg throws out a counter right but Fiaschi avoids it with no problem. Fiaschi misses with a few strikes there.
Hauweg swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Fiaschi gets a clinch. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Hauweg misses with some punches.
Fiaschi is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hauweg gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Fiaschi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Fiaschi misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Fiaschi changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Hauweg fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Hauweg lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bob Hauweg dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Hauweg wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection. Hauweg lands with a good body shot. Fiaschi ducks right into an uppercut from Hauweg. Hauweg closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hauweg lands in his opponent's guard. Hauweg landing some decent shots from guard. Hauweg throws an elbow that misses. Fiaschi uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Hauweg's guard. Nice move by Fiaschi! Fiaschi trying to stand up but can't free himself from Hauweg's guard. Fiaschi passes Hauweg's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fiaschi is trying to control. Hauweg wants to improve his position but can't escape this time. Hauweg is pressing down on Fiaschi's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Fiaschi advances to half guard. Hauweg trying to hold on to Fiaschi's head to control him but Fiaschi postures up.
Fiaschi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hauweg does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Fiaschi is looking to stall here but Hauweg recovers full guard. Hauweg is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Hauweg has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Hauweg keeping moving, preventing Fiaschi from controlling successfully. Fiaschi advances to half guard. Bob Hauweg has got the better of the ground game so far. Fiaschi trying to control the pace.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Fiaschi stands up out of the half guard. Fiaschi throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Hauweg throws out a counter right but Fiaschi avoids it with no problem. Hauweg scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent. Fiaschi looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Hauweg shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fiaschi defends it nicely. Fiaschi throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Hauweg blocks a low kick nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hauweg stuns Fiaschi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Hauweg circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bob Hauweg seems to be getting the better of the standup. Fiaschi shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hauweg defends it nicely. Bob Hauweg seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hauweg lands a nice shot to the body.
Hauweg closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Fiaschi throws Hauweg to one side and escapes! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Hauweg stuffs the takedown attempt from Fiaschi. Fiaschi gets slowly back to his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Fiaschi. That's going to take a lot out of him. Hauweg throws a shot from downtown. Fiaschi moves away and avoids it. Hauweg connects with the punch. Fiaschi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

A close second round but Bob Hauweg will probably get the nod - 10:9. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Fiaschi shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hauweg sprawls well. Hauweg wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Fiaschi gets slowly back to his feet. Hauweg decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Hauweg working over Fiaschi with some ground and pound. Fiaschi looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Hauweg throws a strike but Fiaschi avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Hauweg in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Hauweg tries to free his leg and advance position but Fiaschi is retaining full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hauweg postures up in Fiaschi's guard and throws a big left but Fiaschi blocks it. Hauweg landing with the ground and pound. Hauweg trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hauweg looking to sit in guard and control but Fiaschi gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Fiaschi preventing the sweep. Fiaschi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Fiaschi's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground. Dante Fiaschi has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Hauweg seems keen to control Fiaschi's posture. Fiaschi passes easily into side control. Nice work. Hauweg stops Fiaschi from passing to mount. Hauweg is looking for a sweep. Bob Hauweg is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's three minutes gone in the round. You can see the frustration on Hauweg's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Fiaschi wants to stand but Hauweg has his arm trapped.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet. Fiaschi moves in looking to clinch but Hauweg pushes him off. It seemed like Hauweg was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Fiaschi staying out of range there. Hauweg scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Fiaschi is looking to control Hauweg's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Fiaschi avoid being mounted? Fiaschi is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Still in half guard, Hauweg seems content to control. Fiaschi is positioning himself well to prevent Hauweg advancing to mount. Hauweg performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Fiaschi on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Hauweg is controlling the pace.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
And that's the end of the fight! Bob Hauweg comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Hauweg winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
