Brandis is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Lynyrd Skynyrd : The Ballad of Curtis Loew. Hamish McTavish could well score a knockout today. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Fletch Brandis!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brandis listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.


It looks like Hamish McTavish has been cut.
Brandis throws an off balance right hand

and McTavish counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by McTavish.
McTavish will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Brandis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
McTavish throws a big right hand that misses.
Brandis wants to get back to his feet but McTavish is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McTavish throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Brandis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Brandis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Brandis trying to keep a closed guard but McTavish is proving a slippery customer.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Brandis utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

McTavish is trying to get an arm triangle but Brandis is defending well.

Brandis is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

McTavish is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Brandis is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Brandis wants to get back to his feet but McTavish drags him back down.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

McTavish ducks under a wild hook from Brandis.
McTavish gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Brandis has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as McTavish is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Fletch Brandis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
McTavish misses with a low kick.
It seemed like Brandis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
McTavish is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Brandis can do to turn this around?

and McTavish counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
McTavish postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
McTavish trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Hamish McTavish overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

McTavish postures up in Brandis's guard and throws a big left but Brandis blocks it.
McTavish wants to control from the top but Brandis keeps moving.
McTavish controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

McTavish stops Brandis from standing up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Nice defenses there by McTavish.
Brandis misses with a straight right.
Brandis throws an overhand right that lands on McTavish's shoulder, as McTavish tries to avoid the shot.

Brandis cracks McTavish with an uppercut from hell and McTavish crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Brandis's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!

McTavish is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Brandis defends well.
McTavish working a defensive guard but Brandis passes into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
McTavish wants to control but Brandis is keeping busy.
McTavish tries to get to full guard but Brandis has control of the leg.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
McTavish keeps control of the position for the meantime.

Brandis decides to stand up.
Brandis thows a left - swing and a miss!
McTavish looks for the body kick but Brandis saw that one coming.
McTavish defending well as Brandis loads up on a big left hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Fletch Brandis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's time! McTavish's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Brandis looks to land a left hand but McTavish moved out of range nicely.
Brandis steps in with a hook that catches McTavish right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Brandis follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! McTavish looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:10 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fletch Brandis!
Our winner, Fletch Brandis, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
