Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thys clinches up with Fitzgerald and pushes him back against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Thys turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Fitzgerald bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!
Fitzgerald stuffs the takedown attempt from Thys. Thys gets slowly back to his feet.

Thys fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Fitzgerald, pushing him back against the cage.

Thys tries to pull guard but Fitzgerald won't allow it.

Thys tries to break free but Fitzgerald pushes him back against the cage.

and Fitzgerald counters with a shoot takedown. Thys fights it but they end up in guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fitzgerald accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fitzgerald is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Thys wants to stand and escape but Fitzgerald is having none of it.

Thys utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Fitzgerald thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Fitzgerald cracks Thys with a solid left hand.
Fitzgerald is working Thys over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
