Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Noir!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rafe Barrientos!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Noir missing with a left hand there. Barrientos was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Noir swings for the body but Barrientos moves out of range.

Noir fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Barrientos, pushing him back against the cage.
Barrientos is trying to force a seperation but Noir has the dominant position.
Barrientos tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Barrientos is trying to maintain a safe position but Noir gets an underhook and turns Barrientos into the cage.

Barrientos has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Noir uses from the top position.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Barrientos is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Noir lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Noir is in close to Barrientos's body, working some short punches and elbows.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barrientos lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Barrientos is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Noir is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Noir has escaped and now he's on top!

Barrientos is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Noir defends well.

Noir stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barrientos swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Barrientos is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Noir frees his head nicely. Oh but Barrientos has switched to an armbar! Noir is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
