Coming up we have a light heavyweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Steel Grappler (ranked 19495 p4p, 625 weight class) and Hero Galanos (ranked 648 p4p, 100 weight class). Galanos has chosen oh boy, he's walking out in gladiator trunks as his entrance music. This should be a great matchup!

In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 9 wins and 6 losses; Steel Grappler! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Los Angeles, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 5 losses; Hero Galanos!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Trevor Gratis and Alec Ball.


The fighters bow as they face eachother in the middle of the mat and we are under way.

Grappler tries to sprawl but Galanos drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Galanos passes to full mount!

Grappler is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Grappler is wriggling around trying to escape.
Galanos content just to control the position here.
Grappler is in all sorts of trouble here.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Galanos looking to control and managing it successfully.

Grappler is trying desperately to improve position.

Grappler is wriggling around trying to escape.

Galanos tries to control but Grappler wriggling away.
Grappler is working to get back to half guard.

Galanos trying to control but Grappler is having none of it.

Galanos goes for an armbar but Grappler turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Grappler.

Grappler trying to control the position from guard on top but Galanos is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Grappler pushing down on Galanos's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Galanos has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Grappler is working away from the top position though.
Grappler wants to take a breather but Galanos is having none of it.
Grappler prevents Galanos from improving his position.

Grappler is looking for a kimura but Galanos is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Grappler to get the leverage.

Galanos wants to control but Grappler passes into side.

Galanos gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

Galanos stops Grappler from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Grappler is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Galanos is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Galanos flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Grappler anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Galanos and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Grappler slips an arm under Galanos chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Grappler has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Grappler is squeezing on Galanos like an anaconda would it's prey. Galanos fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Steel Grappler!
Steel Grappler decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
