Coming up we have a welterweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between James Penn (ranked 2859 p4p, 306 weight class) and Joe Bone (ranked 1431 p4p, 170 weight class). Penn comes to the cage accompanied by Everything in its right place. The crowd seem to be enjoying Bone's choice of entrance music: You'll Never Walk Alone. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

In the red corner, competing out of Hilo, with a TWGC record of 8 wins and 9 losses; James Penn! And in the blue corner, fighting out of New York, with a TWGC record of 6 wins and 4 losses; Joe Bone!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.


The fighters connect hands in the middle of the mat and we are under way.
Penn closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bone circles away.
Bone drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Penn defends it well.
James Penn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Penn working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Bone doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Bone manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Penn escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bone gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Bone passes Penn's left leg - he's now in half guard.

Penn is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Bone pulls his head out easily.

Bone moves nicely into side control.

Penn tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bone wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Penn is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Bone off and has taken his back!

I really don't envy Bone right now.

Penn is looking for the choke from the back position but Bone is controlling his hands well.
You can see the frustration on Bone's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Penn is persistently looking for the submission but Bone is defending it well.

Penn is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Bone is defending well though. Penn let's go of the attempt for now.

Bone manages to reverse the position and now he's in Penn's guard. Nice work there by Bone.
