Coming up we have a middleweight Tycoon World Grappling Championship rules bout between Vito Mazzini (ranked 1916 p4p, 236 weight class) and Santiago Gracie (ranked 6859 p4p, 535 weight class). Mazzini's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Fade To Black. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Santiago Gracie was going to win. Let's see if he was right.
This TWGC bout is 1 fifteen minute round in the middleweight division. Introducing today's competitors. In the red corner, competing out of New York, with a TWGC record of 2 wins and 3 losses; Vito Mazzini! And in the blue corner, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, with a TWGC record of 13 wins and 10 losses; Santiago Gracie! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Trevor Gratis.
The official calls the fighters to the middle and the contest is under way. Horrible takedown attempt by Mazzini or perhaps it was just good defense by Gracie, which made it look bad. Gracie felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Mazzini trying to control the action but Gracie is working from the bottom. Gracie is looking to reverse the position. Mazzini tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mazzini has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Gracie is looking to regain half guard here but Mazzini keeps moving and retains side control.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Mazzini works to advance to full mount. Gracie defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Mazzini is really struggling to control Gracie but he's trying to hold on to the position. Gracie is trying desperately to improve position. Mazzini is working on an americana here. Gracie tries to hold on but Mazzini postures up. Mazzini can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Gracie is looking to escape.

Mazzini is not going to allow Gracie to sit and survive in this position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Gracie might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Mazzini haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Mazzini struggling to keep hold of the position.

Gracie is looking to stall here but Mazzini recovers full guard. Gracie content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Mazzini has locked up a guillotine! Mazzini's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Gracie is holding on here and Mazzini must be using up a lot of energy. Gracie has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Mazzini gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
