Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jonny Baker (ranked 2034 p4p, 242 weight class) and Ben Pierre (ranked 4941 p4p, 459 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 1, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonny Baker! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ben Pierre! The judges for this bout are Colin Fotheringham, Chris Edwards and Phil Schofield.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Baker throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Pierre tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away. Pierre has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Baker is landing a low percentage of strikes. Pierre darts in looking for a takedown but Baker gets double underhooks and turns Pierre into the cage. Pierre gets caught flat footed, as Baker shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Baker distracts Pierre with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. We've been hearing good reports from Baker's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Pierre keeping moving, preventing Baker from controlling successfully. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Baker landing some decent shots from guard.

Baker has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Pierre is trying to hold Baker in close to prevent damage but Baker has managed to pass into half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Baker wants to take a breather but Pierre is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Baker lands strikes from half guard. Baker is nestled in close to Pierre, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Baker throws a strike but Pierre avoids it easily and moves to full guard. Pierre working a defensive guard here.
Baker is working Pierre over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Baker working some strikes from top position. Baker postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Pierre can't keep his opponent in guard - Baker advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Baker not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Pierre is rocked! Baker lands a big elbow from half guard. That looks like it's hurt Pierre quite badly. Pierre pulls Baker in close trying to recover. Baker postures up and lands two really hard shots that put Pierre on queer street! The ref takes a look and decides to call an end to the fight! Possibly an early stoppage but Pierre doesn't seem to be complaining too much.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonny Baker! Jonny Baker decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
