Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rutger Myers! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, This Issparta! The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, John Kavanagh and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Myers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Issparta misses with a combination
and Myers holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Issparta looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Issparta escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Myers has managed to clinch.
Issparta drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Myers gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Myers lands an elbow inside that Issparta shrugs off. A short right hand to the side of the head by Myers. Issparta tries to break free but Myers pushes him back against the cage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Issparta wants to break the clinch but can't.
Issparta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Myers lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Issparta backwards. Issparta tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Issparta wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
That's one minute gone in the round. Issparta can't find room to land a body shot as Myers controls the action.
Issparta has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Myers lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards. Issparta looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Issparta breaks the clinch.
Myers clinches up with Issparta and pushes him back against the cage. Myers lands an elbow just above Issparta 's eye. Issparta wants to get back to striking at distance but Myers won't allow it.
Still in the clinch, Myers scores with a nice short uppercut. Myers wants a takedown but no success here.
Issparta is looking to break free of the clinch but Myers has double underhooks. Myers stalling the fight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Issparta pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Issparta throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Issparta looks winded! Myers gets the takedown into side control. We've been hearing that Myers has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Myers lands some shots froms side control. Myers scoring with punches and elbows. Myers is chipping away with strikes.
Myers postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Issparta takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better. Issparta wants to control but Myers postures up. Issparta is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Myers asserts his dominance and retains side control. Issparta takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Myers tries to advance to mount but can't. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The strikes coming from Myers are missing the target in this wave of attacks. Myers landing a few strikes. Myers in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Issparta is looking to reverse the position. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Issparta can do anything to dispel that myth. Myers cracks Issparta with an elbow. That is naaassty. Myers in side control lands a decent elbow. Myers grinds an elbow into Issparta's temple.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Myers is looking to take a break and control but Issparta is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Myers creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Issparta sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike. Issparta is working to avoid the ground and pound but Myers connects with a decent elbow. Myers is chipping away with strikes.
Issparta is rocked! Myers landing with strikes to the head and body from side control. Issparta is still in real trouble! Can Myers finish him? Myers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Myers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Myers in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Issparta looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Myers turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rutger Myers! After winning the bout, Rutger Myers thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
