Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Eric Delgado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mackenzie Wiatrzyk! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nice takedown defense from Wiatrzyk. No joy for Delgado on that attempt. Delgado looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Delgado shoots in and drives through. Wiatrzyk sprawls well. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Delgado. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wiatrzyk gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Delgado trying to control but Wiatrzyk is working from the bottom. Wiatrzyk controlling the position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Delgado wants to stand but Wiatrzyk is controlling his posture from full guard. Delgado wants to control from the top but Wiatrzyk keeps moving. Delgado is breathing heavily. Wiatrzyk pulls Delgado in close to his closed guard and prevents Delgado from doing any damage or advancing position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wiatrzyk wants to sweep here but Delgado controlling him for the moment. Wiatrzyk is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Delgado wants to control from the top but Wiatrzyk keeps moving. Wiatrzyk not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. A solid body kick from Wiatrzyk. Wiatrzyk shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Delgado slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. Delgado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Delgado tries to roll over but Wiatrzyk keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wiatrzyk looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. Delgado trying to control from the bottom.
Wiatrzyk landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Delgado wants to sweep but Wiatrzyk has passed to side control! Delgado tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Wiatrzyk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Wiatrzyk decides to stand up, so the ref orders Delgado to his feet. The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Wiatrzyk pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wiatrzyk closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Delgado to the mat! Delgado manages to get full guard. Delgado trying to keep a closed guard but Wiatrzyk is proving a slippery customer.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wiatrzyk trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Delgado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wiatrzyk manages to get himself to full guard.
Wiatrzyk seems keen to control Delgado's posture. Wiatrzyk looking to hit a scissor sweep but Delgado is one step ahead there. Delgado trying to control but Wiatrzyk is working from the bottom. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Wiatrzyk keeping moving, preventing Delgado from controlling successfully. Wiatrzyk thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage. Delgado trying to control but Wiatrzyk is working from the bottom.

Wiatrzyk shoots in and bounces Delgado off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Delgado working for a triangle but Wiatrzyk defends it easily.

Mackenzie Wiatrzyk dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Wiatrzyk looks like he's thinking about clinching though. Wiatrzyk looks to land a body kick but Delgado moved away. Wiatrzyk instigates a clinch. The is referee keeping an eye on Wiatrzyk - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Delgado jumps guard but Wiatrzyk stands there with Delgado around his waist. Delgado gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Delgado tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Wiatrzyk stalling in the clinch.
Wiatrzyk scores with a shoulder strike. Delgado tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Wiatrzyk just stands there and leans against the cage. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eric Delgado. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Wiatrzyk is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound. Wiatrzyk is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Wiatrzyk passes into half guard. Delgado taking some punishment here, with Wiatrzyk in his half guard. Delgado wants to control but Wiatrzyk is keeping busy and won't allow it. Wiatrzyk perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Wiatrzyk's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. Delgado manages to get to full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wiatrzyk trying to control the position from guard on top but Delgado is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Delgado had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Wiatrzyk is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Delgado Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Wiatrzyk's back instead. Wiatrzyk showing good submission defense here.
Wiatrzyk tries to escape but Delgado has the hooks in and won't let him break free. Wiatrzyk is trying to defend against the choke here but Delgado has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Delgado Tightens the hold and Wiatrzyk taps out furiously! Delgado displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
