Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mohammed Rahardian (ranked 3300 p4p, 360 weight class) and Snabb Ast (ranked 3947 p4p, 411 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mohammed Rahardian! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Snabb Ast! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Kavanagh and Columbo Gatti.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Rahardian darts in trying to clinch and Ast decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rahardian's guard. Rahardian has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Ast can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rahardian is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Ast stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rahardian swivels though and keeps the full guard. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Rahardian pulls Ast in close to prevent any damage. Ast tries to free his leg and advance position but Rahardian is retaining full guard. Ast is stalling in the full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rahardian trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage. Ast trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Rahardian looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Ast controlling from the top position. Rahardian is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ast is aware though and is defending well. Ast is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Rahardian trying to keep a closed guard but Ast is proving a slippery customer.
Rahardian can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ast controls the pace. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Rahardian might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Ast tries to free his leg and advance position but Rahardian is retaining full guard. Ast won't allow Rahardian to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Rahardian wants to stand and escape but Ast is having none of it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rahardian misses with a double jab
and Ast counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ast. Ast is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Rahardian wants to sweep here but Ast controlling him for the moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ast's corner is telling him to maintain position. Let's hope that Ast has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity. Rahardian fails with a takedown attempt. Rahardian tries to clinch up and Ast counters with a takedown into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Ast is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Rahardian is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Ast asserts his dominance and retains side control. Rahardian is not content to let Ast control the position. Rahardian wings away with a couple of strikes but they don't land. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Ast content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Snabb Ast dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Rahardian attempts a low kick but it misses it's target. Rahardian dives in and grabs Ast's left leg, looking for a takedown. Ast pushes down on Rahardian's head and hops out. Horrible takedown attempt by Rahardian or perhaps it was just good defense by Ast, which made it look bad. Rahardian looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ast is fending him off so far but Rahardian persists. Nope, Ast circles away and we're back to standing. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mohammed Rahardian. That's going to take a lot out of him. Rahardian fails with the takedown. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Ast avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rahardian throws a series of punches but Ast avoids them all with ease. Ast with the counter takedown but Rahardian avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ast displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Rahardian. Ast changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. No luck with that takedown attempt from Rahardian. No luck for Rahardian with that takedown attempt. Rahardian fails to land the takedown. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Rahardian looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ast changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt. Rahardian throws a right hand that Ast ducks under and follows up with a left that Ast also avoids with ease. Ast is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here. Ast has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Rahardian misses with a takedown attempt and Ast counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Rahardian! A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Ast. Rahardian pushes Ast away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Ast gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control. Ast controlling the position from side mount. Rahardian is not content to let Ast control the position. Snabb Ast has got the better of the ground game so far. Rahardian is being controlled here. Rahardian tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Ast wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Rahardian being controlled for a moment. Ast wants to control but Rahardian is keeping him busy.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity. Rahardian throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ast's waist but Ast gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rahardian off to one side. Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out! Rahardian drives through with a takedown into Ast's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position. Rahardian looking to sit in guard and control but Ast gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Snabb Ast showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Rahardian is trying to get back to his feet. Ast is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Rahardian will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already. Ast working away. Rahardian seems a little lost for a moment, as Ast dominates the positioning. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Rahardian tries to improve position but can't. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Ast wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rahardian keeps working. You can see the frustration on Rahardian's face as Ast controls the position.
The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ast has clasped his hands together around Rahardian's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done. Rahardian is not content to let Ast control the position. Rahardian seems a little lost for a moment, as Ast dominates the positioning. Rahardian striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Rahardian is trying to control Ast's posture but Ast avoids it. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

And that's the end of the fight! Snabb Ast comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Ast has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
