Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Arttu Peltonen (ranked 2690 p4p, 273 weight class) and Hayate Sakurai (ranked 3141 p4p, 310 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sakurai shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Sakurai is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Peltonen tries to roll over but Sakurai keeps him under control.
Sakurai tries to pass the half guard into mount. Peltonen knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peltonen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sakurai doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sakurai manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Peltonen isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Sakurai stacks Peltonen on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Sakurai!

Sakurai has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Peltonen is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Sakurai yanks on the arm and Peltonen is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Sakurai.
