The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kivela tries for a takedown but Water Law sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Water Law looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Kivela shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Water Law's guard.

Kivela drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kivela jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
