The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simone connects with a looping right hand.
Simone lands a head shot.
Lee throws a body kick that misses
and Simone counters with a solid body kick.
Lee is looking to clinch but Simone is avoiding it.

Lee tries to keep at a distance but Simone has taken the fight into the clinch.

Simone works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Simone is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Simone working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Simone keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Lee's efforts to push away.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Simone lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Simone has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Lee uses from the top position.

Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Simone manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Lee manages to get himself to full guard.

Simone looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Simone in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Lee tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Simone!
