Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Evan Payton (ranked 1789 p4p, 219 weight class) and Matt Quin (ranked 1867 p4p, 225 weight class). Quin is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Captain Jack - Iko Iko. Evan Payton is staring across the cage at his opponent, tweaking his nipples... Tweaking his own nipples that is.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
21 - 20 - 0, fighting out of New York, Evan Payton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
37 - 23 - 4, fighting out of Las Vegas, Matt Quin! The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Payton moves into the clinch. Quin lands with a right to the head. Quin is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Payton pulls him back up using the underhooks. Payton tries a body shot but Quin blocks it.
Payton prevents Quin from breaking the clinch. Quin throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges. Payton throws a head punch that misses. Payton blocks an uppercut.
Quin is trying to trip Payton. He has hold of a leg but Payton is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Quin persists though and gets the takedown into guard. Payton utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Payton can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Quin controls the pace. Quin is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Payton tries to land a sweep but no joy. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Payton keeping moving, preventing Quin from controlling successfully. Payton trying to keep a closed guard but Quin is proving a slippery customer.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Payton is on top in guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Payton stands and throws Quin's legs to the side, diving into side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Quin is trying to control Payton's posture but Payton avoids it. Quin has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it. Quin manages to work his way to half guard, despite Payton's best efforts. Payton content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Payton wants to take a breather but Quin is having none of it. Payton wants to free his trapped foot but Quin is holding on for dear life with his legs. Quin wants to get back to full guard. Payton looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Payton is keen to just control but Quin is a slippery customer. Payton works his way into full mount! Quin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Quin working to try and regain half guard.
Payton wants to control the pace but Quin is squirming around nicely. Quin tries to lock up and control but Payton gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Quin keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Payton manages to capitalize on a mistake by Quin to take his back! Payton is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Quin taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Payton.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Evan Payton! After winning the bout, Evan Payton thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
