Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mathias Wendel! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lee Roy! The judges for this bout are William Gold, Andrew Berry and James Ackerman.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Wendel pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Wendel needs to keep his hands up - Roy had a free shot at his head there. Jab from Wendel. Mathias Wendel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Wendel throws a right hand that misses
and Roy counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Wendel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Roy's head. Roy gets in close and instigates a clinch. Roy lands with a light punch inside. Wendel throws a punch but it's blocked by Roy. Wendel escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Roy takes one on the button. Wendel swings widly with a right hand
letting Roy counter with a right hand. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wendel throws a right hand that Roy ducks under and follows up with a left that Roy also avoids with ease. Wendel falls off balance throwing a combination
and Roy counters with a stiff right hand. Wendel looks to land a right hand but Roy moved out of range.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy scores with a three punch combo!
Roy has taken the fight to the clinch.
Roy lands with a short shot to the head. Wendel misses with a punch on the inside.
Wendel tries to break the clinch but Roy is controlling the position. Wendel breaks the clinch.
A telegraphed right hand from Roy misses the target. Wendel looks to throw the jab but Roy is out of range. Wendel throws a left and a right that both miss
and Roy counters with a straight right hand. Wendel lands a nice looking body shot.
Roy ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Roy instigates a clinch. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Roy breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wendel misses with a hook. Roy ducked under it nicely. Nice uppercut lands for Wendel. That snapped Roy's head back.
Wendel throws an off balance right hand
enabling Roy to counter with a crisp jab. Roy slips under a jab from Wendel. Wendel bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Roy's head. Roy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Wendel. Roy fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wendel, pushing him back against the cage. Roy lands a right hand that snaps the head of Wendel backwards. Wendel is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Wendel misses with a punch on the inside.
Roy lands a left hand that snaps the head of Wendel backwards. Roy manages to break the clinch.
Roy throws a lazy uppercut
and Wendel connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Roy throws out a powerful jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Wendel tries to bum rush Roy with a series of wild strikes but Roy uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Jab from Wendel. Roy throws out a loose jab but Wendel uses good head movement to avoid it. Wendel smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
It looks like Lee Roy has been cut. Roy throws a combination that misses and Wendel counters with a nice uppercut. Wendel misses with a hook. A little jabbing left from Roy on the counter but it doesn't find it's target. Wendel jabbing away but nothing is landing. Wendel misses with a hook
and Wendel takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Roy slips under a jab. Roy doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter. Wendel throws out a powerful jab. Wendel is really peppering his opponent's head with punches. A jab from Wendel misses. Wendel looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Roy moves away from the strike by Wendel. Wendel throws a lazy uppercut
and Roy makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Wendel lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end. Wendel moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Roy looks to land a combination but Wendel avoids it well. Wendel throws a lazy right hand but Roy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Lee Roy will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lee Roy's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
A cross from Wendel lands. Wendel with a nice cross. Wendel scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Decent striking displayed by Wendel there. Roy misses with a body shot.
A little feinted left hand from Wendel on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Wendel scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That has opened up Lee Roy's cut even more. Wendel on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Wendel throws the left hand but Roy avoids the punch easily. Wendel moves away from the strike by Roy. Wendel tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Roy was well out of range. Poor timing from Wendel. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Wendel misses with a right hand and Roy counters with a three punch combo that has Wendel backing up. Wendel nods at Roy to acknowledge the strikes.
Wendel is rocked! Wendel shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Roy eats them both and turns towards Wendel to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo. Oh Wendel is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! The crowd cheers as Wendel lands an impressive looking overhand right. Roy doesn't seem phased though. Wendel seems to have got his legs back now. Wendel falls off balance throwing a combination
enabling Roy to counter with a crisp jab.
That's one minute gone in the round. Roy uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Wendel. Wendel moves out of range as Roy strikes. Roy is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Nice jab there from Roy. Roy smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button. Roy scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent. Wendel lands an overhand right. Roy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Wendel misses with a few strikes there.

Wendel lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Wendel jabbing away but nothing is landing. Roy slips a jab and a cross from Wendel.

and Roy counters with a lovely straight right hand! Wendel misses with a right hand and Roy counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. Wendel throws a hook but Roy blocks it. Roy lands a slapping body shot.
Wendel uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Roy has time to react. Wendel throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Roy throws a shot to the body.

Wendel connects with a jab. Roy slips a jab from Wendel. It seemed like Roy was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it. Wendel rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Roy counters with a left to the body. Roy has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off. Wendel just misses with a punch to the body.

That was a close second round but I would say that Mathias Wendel will probably get the nod. The cut man is working on Lee Roy's cut. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

On like donkey kong! Wendel swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

That's one minute gone in the round. Roy defending well as Wendel loads up on a big left hand. Roy displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Wendel throws out the jab. Roy is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Wendel with a body shot. Wendel jabs Roy right on the nose. Roy blinks but takes it well. Roy feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Wendels jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Wendel throws a predictable looking body shot
and Roy scores with a counter punch that sends Wendel to the canvas! Roy smells blood - he's punishing Wendel with more strikes and the ref has stopped it! Wendel has no idea where he is - he's tackled the ref... oh dear, poor guy, the crowd is in hysterics!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Lee Roy! Our winner, Lee Roy, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
