Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Trashem Smashem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Coen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Coen has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Trashem Smashem! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dan Coen! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Anthony Taglia and Eddie Farnsworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smashem keeps the fight on the outside. Coen looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Smashem tries to clinch up and Coen counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Coen with the ground and pound but Smashem uses the opportunity to regain guard. Smashem working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Coen. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Smashem trying to control the position here. Coen trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Smashem is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Coen is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Coen wants to pass the guard but Smashem is keeping the position. Smashem working a defensive guard here.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Coen forces Smashem back against the cage and clinches. Coen scores a nice knee to the body.

Coen tightens his grip and picks Smashem up, before dumping him to the ground. Smashem manages to land in guard. Smashem wants to stand up but Coen is controlling him.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Coen tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Smashem is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Coen looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Smashem is avoiding damage well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Coen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smashem to the mat! Smashem manages to get full guard. Smashem is breathing heavily. Coen loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Coen wants to pass the guard but Smashem is keeping the position. Coenis looking to pass into half guard but Smashem pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Smashem is in guard. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Coen holds on and takes a little breather. Coen keeping moving, preventing Smashem from controlling successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Coen dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Coen gets a clinch. Coen lands a damaging elbow. Coen gets a trip takedown into half guard. Smashem keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Coen is looking to pass Smashem's guard but actually Smashem recovers to full guard. Smashem has momentary wrist control but Coen slips an elbow through the middle. Coen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Smashem swivels though and keeps the full guard. Smashem wants to stand and escape but Coen is having none of it.

Smashem shoots and misses and Coen counters by moving into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Coen breaks the clinch.
Coen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Coen is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Smashem keeping moving, preventing Coen from controlling successfully. Smashem keeping full guard, as Coen tries to pass.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coen controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Dan Coen has got the better of the ground game so far. Coen prevents Smashem from getting back to his feet. Coen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Coen throwing strikes from guard but Smashem blocks nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Coen looking to control the position here, rather than advance. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Coen with a flurry of punches that miss. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Coen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Smashem misses with a shot to the body and Coen counters by moving into the clinch. Coen unloads a knee to the mid-section. Smashem lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Coen landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

That's two minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Coen takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Let's hope that Coen has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight. Coen is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Smashem has managed to free his arm - good work. Coen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Coen looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Smashem with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position. Coen content to control rather than advance.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Despite being in the dominant position, Dan Coen just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Coen chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Trashem Smashem has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Coen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Dan Coen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Coen tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Coen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Coen has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
