Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ed Erickson (ranked 24957 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hafid Lumihi (ranked 4810 p4p, 0 weight class). Hafid Lumihi acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ed Erickson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Hafid Lumihi!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lumihi shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Lumihi was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Erickson on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Erickson tries to get out of the position.
Lumihi controlling the position.
Erickson takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Erickson is letting Lumihi control him for a moment.
Erickson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Lumihi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lumihi is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Erickson will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Lumihi is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Lumihi tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Lumihi decides to stand back up.
Erickson throws a sloppy head kick

and Lumihi counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Lumihi is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Lumihi wants to control from the top but Erickson keeps moving.
Lumihi wanted to stand there but Erickson had control of the position.
Lumihi trying to control the position from guard on top but Erickson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Lumihi seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Erickson throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Lumihi clinches with his opponent.
Lumihi stops a takedown attempt from Erickson.

Erickson breaks the clinch.
Lumihi shoots for a double leg takedown but Erickson sprawls well. He's pushed Lumihi's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lumihi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Erickson is fending him off so far but Lumihi persists. Nope, Erickson circles away and we're back to standing.
Lumihi stuffs the takedown.
Lumihi misses with a body kick.
Erickson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Lumihi under the eye.
Erickson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Lumihi.
Ed Erickson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hafid Lumihi.

Lumihi clinches up against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lumihi wants to take the fight to the mat but Erickson manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Erickson breaks the clinch.
Erickson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Lumihi avoids it really well and circles away.
Lumihi is looking for the big counter here.
Erickson moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Erickson tries to clinch there but Lumihi circles away.
Erickson avoids the body shot from Lumihi.
Lumihi shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Erickson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lumihi tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Erickson defends well and Lumihi ends up having to push Erickson into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Erickson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Lumihi holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Hafid Lumihi will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Erickson pulls guard effortlessly.
Lumihi won't allow Erickson to sweep him here.
Lumihi working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Lumihi looking to sit in guard and control but Erickson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lumihi is trying to control the position but Erickson postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Erickson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Lumihi throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lumihi pulls Erickson in close to his closed guard and prevents Erickson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Lumihi looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Erickson passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Erickson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Lumihi has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Erickson but great work by Lumihi.
Erickson regains half guard.
Erickson wants to get back to full guard.
Lumihi is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Lumihi prevents Erickson from improving his position.
Erickson is staying active underneath Lumihi, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Lumihi seems to be looking for submissions.
Erickson throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Lumihi in particular looking to stall.
Lumihi moves into full mount! Erickson won't be happy about that!

Lumihi working for a submission but Erickson is keeping him at bay.

Erickson sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Erickson is refusing to be controlled, as Lumihi sits in half guard.
Lumihi blocks the strikes from Erickson.

Lumihi tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Erickson slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Erickson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Lumihi tries to free his leg and advance position but Erickson is retaining full guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Erickson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Lumihi is aware though and is defending well.

Lumihi is looking to take a break and control but Erickson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Erickson bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lumihi's guard.

Lumihi is striking off his back. Erickson thinks nothing of it though and passes easily into half guard.
Lumihi flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Lumihi wants to control but Erickson is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Lumihi gets full guard.
Lumihi is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Erickson is controlling him.
Erickson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lumihi works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Erickson throwing strikes but missing.

Lumihi had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Erickson defends it easily.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Lumihi goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Lumihi drives through with a takedown into guard.

Erickson uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Lumihi gets a clinch.
Lumihi trying to land knees to the body.
Lumihi pressing his opponent against the cage.
Erickson jumps guard but Lumihi stands there with Erickson around his waist. Erickson gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Lumihi creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Erickson has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Lumihi is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Erickson is defending well.
Ed Erickson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hafid Lumihi is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Lumihi is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Erickson breaks the clinch.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Ed Erickson.
I think Lumihi has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
