Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Emilio Aguinaldo (ranked 420 p4p, 58 weight class) and Marcus Ribeiro (ranked 630 p4p, 88 weight class). Aguinaldo comes to the cage accompanied by Noypi by Bamboo. Marcus Ribeiro has the eye of the tiger tonight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marcus Ribeiro!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Dirk Anderson and Santiago Holmes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Aguinaldo has taken the fight to the clinch.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ribeiro tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Aguinaldo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Aguinaldo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Aguinaldo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Ribeiro.
Aguinaldo was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Emilio Aguinaldo has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Ribeiro.
Aguinaldo lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Emilio Aguinaldo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ribeiro is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Aguinaldo.
Ribeiro has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Aguinaldo finds it's way round the side to connect with Ribeiro's head.

Ribeiro throws a hook to the side of Aguinaldo's head but Aguinaldo sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Aguinaldo was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ribeiro. Aguinaldo does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ribeiro shoots in and drives through. Aguinaldo sprawls well.
It looked like Aguinaldo wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

Aguinaldo cracks Ribeiro with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Ribeiro looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Aguinaldo finish him?


It looks like Marcus Ribeiro has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Aguinaldo cracks Ribeiro with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Aguinaldo has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Ribeiro to stand back up!

Ribeiro shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Aguinaldo but Aguinaldo pushes him off and we're back to square one.

and Aguinaldo counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Ribeiro is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Aguinaldo is keeping busy.

Aguinaldo makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.

Ribeiro is trying to maintain a safe position but Aguinaldo gets an underhook and turns Ribeiro into the cage.
A short right hand to the side of the head by Aguinaldo.
Aguinaldo scores with a shoulder strike.
Ribeiro tries to stall but Aguinaldo uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Ribeiro tries to break free but Aguinaldo pushes him back against the cage.
Ribeiro's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Marcus Ribeiro.

Aguinaldo lands a big right hand that sends Ribeiro crashing to the mat! Aguinaldo stays standing though and waves Ribeiro back to his feet!
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Aguinaldo moves into range and clinches up with Ribeiro.

Ribeiro is trying to pull guard but Aguinaldo turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aguinaldo feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ribeiro sprawling to the canvas! Ribeiro rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Aguinaldo finish him?!
Ribeiro is still on wobbly legs! Can Aguinaldo finish him?
Aguinaldo is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Aguinaldo stuns Ribeiro with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Ribeiro shoots in but Aguinaldo avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Aguinaldo is looking to counter punch.
Aguinaldo shakes his hands by his side, trying to relax. Ribeiro takes his eyes off the ball for a moment - Aguinaldo sees the opportunity and cracks him with a massive hook! Ribeiro bends double and collapses on top of himself - he's out! The crowd are going absolutely nuts! Wow, what a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:19 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Emilio Aguinaldo!
