Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Tony Costa! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Randy RoboTessin! The judges for this bout are Jeff Smith, Ryoma Takatsuka and Josh West.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! RoboTessin dives in and grabs Costa's left leg, looking for a takedown. Costa pushes down on RoboTessin's head and hops out. RoboTessin throws a predictable looking body shot
and Costa counters with a series of strikes. RoboTessin will be more careful next time no doubt. RoboTessin closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Costa did well to prevent RoboTessin getting side control. Costa is refusing to be controlled, as RoboTessin sits in half guard. RoboTessin working the head and body with strikes. RoboTessin is looking to take a break and control but Costa is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. RoboTessin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. RoboTessin missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. Costa looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Costa looking for submissions off his back. Costa is staying active underneath RoboTessin, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Costa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but RoboTessin pulls his head out easily. RoboTessin throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Costa looking for submissions off his back. Costa tries to roll over but RoboTessin keeps him under control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. RoboTessin connects with a nice short shot to Costa's temple. Costa is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but RoboTessin pulls his head out easily. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. RoboTessin looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
RoboTessin slips a nice elbow through Costa's hands, connecting with Costa's forehead. Costa looking for submissions off his back. Costa looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Costa is trying to defend against the ground and pound but RoboTessin scores with a couple of nice shots. RoboTessin is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Costa actively working from the bottom here. Costa looking for submissions from an awkward position here. That's three minutes gone in the round. RoboTessin pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. RoboTessin is in the full mount, landing strikes. RoboTessin lands a big shot there that rocks Costa but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
