The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bailey closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
GURGEL wants to control but Bailey postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Bailey is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but GURGEL is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
GURGEL regains half guard.
GURGEL is not content to let Bailey control the position.
Still in half guard, Bailey seems content to control.

Bailey throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Bailey swats away the attempt to clinch by GURGEL.
Bailey moves into range and lands a nice body kick.
Bailey looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

and GURGEL counters with a shoot takedown. Bailey fights it but they end up in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Bailey wants to get back to his feet but GURGEL is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
