Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sam Rinaldi (ranked 771 p4p, 107 weight class) and Scott Hill (ranked 1242 p4p, 165 weight class). Sam Rinaldi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Rinaldi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Scott Hill!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hill fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Rinaldi manages to avoid it.
Hill swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Rinaldi leaves Hill with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Hill closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Hill moves into full mount!
Rinaldi bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Hill looking for a sweep. Not yet Hill, not yet.
Hill not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Rinaldi's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Rinaldi wants to control from the top but Hill keeps moving.

Hill working for a triangle but Rinaldi defends it easily.

Hill looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hill has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Rinaldi has passed into side control.
Hill manages to work his way to half guard, despite Rinaldi's best efforts.
Hill is looking for a sweep. Rinaldi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Hill is positioning himself well to prevent Rinaldi advancing to mount.

Rinaldi works his way into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rinaldi looking to control but Hill is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Hill is in all sorts of trouble here.

Rinaldi tries to control but Hill wriggling away.
Hill is wriggling around trying to escape.
Hill wants to hold on but Rinaldi pushes him away.
Hill tries to reverse the position but Rinaldi maintains control.
Hill regains half guard.
Hill trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Rinaldi manages to pass to mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hill is wriggling around trying to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Sam Rinaldi will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Hill thows a left - swing and a miss!
Hill moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.


It looks like Scott Hill has been cut.
Rinaldi slips a jab from Hill.
Some wild striking there from Rinaldi.
Rinaldi throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Hill.

Hill shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hill showed some decent athleticism there.
Hill throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Hill trying to control from half guard but Rinaldi is working away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hill is thwarting Rinaldi's attempts to control the position.

Hill is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rinaldi doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hill.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Hill tries to free his leg and advance position but Rinaldi is retaining full guard.
Rinaldi wants to sweep but no luck.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hill shoots in for a double leg but Rinaldi sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Rinaldi with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Rinaldi keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Hill takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Hill waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Rinaldi.
Rinaldi looks to land a combination but Hill avoids it well.
Rinaldi misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Hill.
Rinaldi cracks Hill with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rinaldi lunges at Hill with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Hill's hand.

Rinaldi swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Rinaldi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Sam Rinaldi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rinaldi ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hill moves away.
Nice sprawl there from Rinaldi as Hill shoots in.
Rinaldi stalks Hill and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Hill's face. Hill staggers backwards, shaken.
Rinaldi punishes Hill's body with a nice straight punch.
Hill misses with an uppercut. Rinaldi saw that one coming.
Rinaldi takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rinaldi is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hill can do to turn this around?

Rinaldi digs a good hook to Hill's body.
Hill misses with a hook. Rinaldi ducked under it nicely.

Rinaldi throws a left that rocks Hill and follows with a right that sends him tumbling to the canvas! Rinaldi dives into side control, looking to finish! Can Hill regain composure!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Rinaldi lands a big shot to the head and Hill winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!

Sam Rinaldi tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
