Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Shirahama!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardona misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Shirahama.

Cardona keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Cardona throws a nice looking combination but Shirahama bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Cardona regains half guard there - taking advantage of Shirahama's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Shirahama is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Shirahama moves into full mount! Cardona won't be happy about that!

Shirahama moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Cardona has worked his arm free - good work by Cardona!

Ramon Cardona dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Cardona throws a jab but it's blocked by Shirahama.
Cardona throws a series of punches but Shirahama avoids them all with ease.
Shirahama circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cardona fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Shirahama manages to avoid it.
Cardona throws a series of punches but Shirahama moves out of range.

Cardona gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Shirahama controls from within his opponent's guard.
Shirahama wants to control from the top but Cardona keeps moving.

Shirahama drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cardona manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Shirahama has Cardona in his guard.

Shirahama takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Cardona wanted to stand there but Shirahama had control of the position.
Shirahama is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Cardona is refusing to be controlled, as Shirahama sits in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Shirahama is working for a kimura but Cardona is defending it quite comfortably.
Cardona knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Shirahama on the ground.
Shirahama wants to free his trapped foot but Cardona is holding on for dear life with his legs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Let's hope that Shirahama has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Shirahama works his way into full mount!

Cardona defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Shirahama.

Kenichi Shirahama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Shirahama has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
