Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ed Goodwin! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Stanley Steemer! The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Steemer throws a series of strikes that have Goodwin backpedaling.
Steemer throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Goodwin. It appears Goodwin was looking to counter with a kick there. Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world. No joy there for Steemer, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little feinted left hand from Goodwin on the counter but he doesn't commit to it. Steemer throws a series of punches but Goodwin moves out of range. Steemer swinging wildly here.
Goodwin lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick. Steemer throws a right and a left that Goodwin avoids nicely. Goodwin looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Steemer scores with a three punch combo!

That's one minute gone in the round. Nice straight punches there by Steemer. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Steemer. Sloppy strikes from Steemer. Those never looked like landing. Goodwin drops his hands momentarily and Steemer takes advantage with a crisp shot to the head. A right-left combo lands from Steemer. Goodwin tries to keep at a distance but Steemer has taken the fight into the clinch. The referee calls for Goodwin to work.
Steemer being controlled against the cage. The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Goodwin for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Steemer working hard to break the clinch. Steemer lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Goodwin is rocked!
It looks like Ed Goodwin has been cut. A frustrated look appears on Steemer's face as he tries to break the clinch. Oh Goodwin is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Steemer throws a big uppercut that drops Goodwin! More strikes from Steemer and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Goodwin lies dazed against the cage as Steemer celebrates with his cornermen!
