Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jianabule Ahezhuole (ranked 5108 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arslan Sonmez (ranked 5174 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Eddie Farnsworth, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahezhuole shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sonmez pinned against the cage. Sonmez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sonmez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Ahezhuole tries to close the distance and clinch but Sonmez swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
A decent looking cross lands there for Sonmez.
Ahezhuole lands a head kick!
Ahezhuole wants to clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Nice sprawl there from Sonmez as Ahezhuole shoots in.
Sonmez tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Ahezhuole is able to avoid easily.
Ahezhuole tries to clinch up but Sonmez circles away and keeps his distance.

Sonmez closes the distance and pushes Ahezhuole back into the cage.
Sonmez breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Sonmez counters with a flying knee. Nice.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Sonmez lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ahezhuole has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ahezhuole and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Ahezhuole is looking for a counter combo.
Donk. Sonmez catches Ahezhuole right on the button with a cross.
Ahezhuole fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sonmez avoids it really well and circles away.
Sonmez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Ahezhuole's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ahezhuole bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sonmez's guard.

Sonmez is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Ahezhuole throwing strikes but missing.
Ahezhuole trying to control but Sonmez is working from the bottom.
Ahezhuole is pushing down on Sonmez's leg trying to pass to half guard. Sonmez is fighting to maintain full guard but Ahezhuole has managed to sneak the leg through.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Sonmez is looking to control Ahezhuole's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Sonmez avoid being mounted?
Sonmez really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ahezhuole. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sonmez is not content to let Ahezhuole control the position.
Ahezhuole wants to free his trapped foot but Sonmez is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Nice takedown defense from Sonmez. No joy for Ahezhuole on that attempt.

A bone on bone clash there as Ahezhuole blocks the leg kick.

Sonmez pushes Ahezhuole up against the cage in a clinch.
Sonmez has Ahezhuole pressed against the cage, preventing Ahezhuole from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Ahezhuole jumps guard but Sonmez stands there with Ahezhuole around his waist. Ahezhuole gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sonmez tightens his grip and picks Ahezhuole up, before dumping him to the ground. Ahezhuole manages to land in guard.
Ahezhuole is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Sonmez presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Sonmez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Sonmez shoots in and gets a takedown into Ahezhuole's guard.
Ahezhuole kicks Sonmez off and gets to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sonmez isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Ahezhuole stacks Sonmez on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Ahezhuole!
