Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ray Wells (ranked 5201 p4p, 452 weight class) and Dieudonne Ntsengue (ranked 5199 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ray Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dieudonne Ntsengue!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wells shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ntsengue as he jumps to the side.
Wells shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ntsengue sprawls well. Ntsengue wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wells gets slowly back to his feet.
Wells tries to clinch there but Ntsengue circles away.
Ntsengue unleashes a big counter combination but Wells bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ntsengue throws a wild body kick that Wells sees coming a mile off.
Wells wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Wells drops back, looking for a kneebar! Ntsengue looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Ntsengue looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Ntsengue!

Wells seems a little lost for a moment, as Ntsengue dominates the positioning.

Ntsengue stands up.

Wells tries to keep at a distance but Ntsengue has taken the fight into the clinch.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Ntsengue has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Wells jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ntsengue walks away with a smile on his face. Wells gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Wells has a takedown stuffed.
Ntsengue misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Wells was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Ntsengue clinches up against the cage.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Ntsengue jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Wells walks away with a smile on his face. Ntsengue gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
A right-left combo lands from Ntsengue.
Wells shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ntsengue pinned against the cage. Ntsengue gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


A telegraphed takedown attempt from Ntsengue is defended easily by Wells.
Wells tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ntsengue manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Ntsengue drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Wells defends it well.

Ntsengue ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Ntsengue no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Ntsengue has control of Wells's left arm, preventing Wells from doing any damage.
Ntsengue's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Wells stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ntsengue swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ntsengue is looking to stand up but Wells isn't so interested in that idea.
Wells is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Wells postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ntsengue is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Wells, into his guard.

Ntsengue slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ntsengue thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ntsengue trying to control the position from guard on top but Wells is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Ntsengue wants to pass the guard but Wells is keeping the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ntsengue is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Ntsengue will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Ntsengue has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Ntsengue manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wells manages to get himself to full guard.

Wells wants to sweep here but Ntsengue controlling him for the moment.

Dieudonne Ntsengue showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Ntsengue is pushing Wells up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Ntsengue drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Wells gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Wells is looking to stand up but Ntsengue won't let him.

Ntsengue jumps into guard, dragging Wells to the mat.
Wells trying to control but Ntsengue is working from the bottom.
Ntsengue pulls Wells in to control the position.
Ntsengue tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Wells got a little sloppy there for a moment and Ntsengue has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wells has managed to get both his arms back between Ntsengue's legs - danger averted.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Wells shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ntsengue but Ntsengue pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ray Wells. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Dieudonne Ntsengue comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ntsengue has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
