Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Arlovski! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Angelo Carandang! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Arlovski drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carandang is trying to control Arlovski's posture but Arlovski avoids it. Arlovski working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Carandang managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Arlovski.
Carandang defending against the ground and pound. Arlovski is working Carandang over with some ground and pound from side control. Carandang looks gassed! Arlovski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Carandang has escaped the position, nice work there. This has been an exciting period of action! Arlovski controls the position from side control.
That's one minute gone in the round. Arlovski tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it. Carandang is not content to let Arlovski control the position. Carandang takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Arlovski looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Arlovski works to advance to full mount. Carandang defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs. Arlovski connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Arlovski cracks Carandang with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Arlovski looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. Arlovski lands a nice shot to the head.

Carandang has left one of his arms exposed and Arlovski doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Carandang screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
