The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thighpunch darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Thighpunch displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from OMalley.
Butch Thighpunch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

OMalley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than OMalley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

OMalley tries for a kimura but Thighpunch is defending well.
You can see the frustration on Thighpunch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

OMalley tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no OMalley has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

OMalley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Thighpunch, who protects the arm well.

OMalley goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Thighpunch rolls with the submission and now he's on top in OMalley's guard! Nice work there by Thighpunch!
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as OMalley holds on and takes a little breather.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
OMalley manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Thighpunch manages to get himself to full guard.

OMalley is pushing down on Thighpunch's leg trying to pass to half guard. Thighpunch is fighting to maintain full guard but OMalley has managed to sneak the leg through.

OMalley is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Thighpunch knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Thighpunch for a finish.
