Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jesse Tillman (ranked 24931 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 5142 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Smith!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Smith looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
It looked like Tillman was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.

Smith gets a double leg takedown into Tillman's guard.
Tillman wants to stand but Smith is controlling the position.
Tillman keeping full guard, as Smith tries to pass.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Smith prevents Tillman from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tillman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Smith off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Smith fails in his attempt to clinch.

Smith feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Tillman gets caught napping as Smith dives in and scores a takedown. Tillman manages to retain guard.

Smith is looking to work some ground and pound but Tillman has wrist control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Tillman is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Smith must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Smith tries to free his leg and advance position but Tillman is retaining full guard.
Smith stands and throws Tillman's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith is working Tillman over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Tillman wants to stand but Smith is controlling the position.

Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Smith. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Smith bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Smith thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Smith wants to control but Tillman is keeping him busy.
Tillman is trying to buck Smith off.
Smith trying to control the action but Tillman is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Smith decides to stand back up.
Smith tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Tillman defends well and Smith ends up having to push Tillman into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Smith has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Tillman avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Smith tries to pull guard but Tillman holds him up against the cage and eventually Smith drops back down to his feet.

Smith got a little sloppy there for a moment and Tillman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Smith has managed to get both his arms back between Tillman's legs - danger averted.

and Tillman counters with a left and a right that stings Smith.

and Tillman counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Tillman tries to sprawl but Smith drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Tillman kicks Smith off and gets back to his feet.

Smith gets a clinch.
Smith jumps guard but Tillman turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Smith breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Tillman avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
It looked like Tillman was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Smith goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Tillman is looking to counter the offense by Smith and move into the clinch.
Smith fails with an attempt to clinch.
Tillman went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Smith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Tillman is trying to escape back to his feet but Smith uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Smith in side control, just content to control the action for now.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jesse Tillman.
I think Smith has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
