Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Oliver Queen (ranked 3292 p4p, 381 weight class) and Mee Vattalles (ranked 1890 p4p, 235 weight class). Vattalles has chosen JVG - Matti & Teppo as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Oliver Queen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mee Vattalles!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Queen lands with an uppercut that bounces Vattalles off the ropes and back into range.
Vattalles misses with an uppercut.
A head kick misses from Queen.
Vattalles shoots in for a takedown but Queen shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Vattalles fails to land the takedown.
A little feinted left hand from Queen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Queen throws a half hearted mid kick.
Vattalles shoots for a takedown but Queen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Oliver Queen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mee Vattalles.
Vattalles connects with a good right hand that stumbles Queen. Queen circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Queen buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Queen shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

and Queen finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vattalles dives in and grabs Queen's left leg, looking for a takedown. Queen pushes down on Vattalles's head and hops out.
Vattalles doesn't manage to clinch there - Queen circles away.
Queen misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Queen lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Good work by Vattalles as he checks the leg kick.

Vattalles shoots in and drives through. Queen sprawls well.
Queen throws a low kick but it's checked well by Vattalles.
Queen smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Vattalles darts in and clinches Queen up against the ropes.

Vattalles is trying to pull guard but Queen has him pressed against the ropes.

Vattalles tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Queen just stands there and leans against the ropes.
With the two fighters working up against the ropes, Queen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Vattalles's brow.

Vattalles gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Queen regains guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vattalles drops back, looking for a kneebar! Queen looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Queen looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Queen!

Vattalles is not content to let Queen control the position.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vattalles tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Vattalles shoots in but no luck this time.
Queen does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Vattalles goes for a double leg but Queen avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the ropes as Queen continues to drive forward.
Queen is looking to counter punch.
Vattalles shoots for a takedown but Queen saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Sloppy strikes from Vattalles. Those never looked like landing.
Vattalles shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Queen as he avoids it easily.

Vattalles manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Queen on his heels. He'll look to pass Queen's guard now, I'm sure.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Vattalles accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Vattalles is looking to pass into half guard but Queen pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Queen is in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Queen tries to free his leg and advance position but Vattalles is retaining full guard.
Vattalles has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Vattalles has his foot on Queen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Queen works his way back into a safe position though.

Vattalles escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Queen gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That was a close second round but I would say that Oliver Queen will probably get the nod.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Queen, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
