Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Faramir Gondor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Spray Norte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spray Norte is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Faramir Gondor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Spray Norte!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Matheus Silva and Paulo Santos.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gondor lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Gondor.
Gondor misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Gondor clinches with his opponent.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Norte is persisting with his attempts to control the action in the clinch, rather than do any real damage.
Norte looks gassed!
Norte creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Norte misses with an elbow over the top.
Gondor is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Norte pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Gondor dodges an elbow strike from Norte.

Gondor is trying to trip Norte. He has hold of a leg but Norte is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Gondor persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Norte utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Gondor drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gondor jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gondor wants to pass the guard but Norte is keeping the position.
Gondor slips nicely into half guard.

Gondor working over Norte with some ground and pound. Norte looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
Gondor is trying to control. Norte wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Gondor stands up and beckons Norte to join him on the feet.
No joy there for Gondor, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Norte slips a jab and a cross from Gondor.
Gondor shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Norte but Norte pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Faramir Gondor. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Norte tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Gondor counters with a shoot takedown. Norte fights it but they end up in guard.
Gondor is looking to work some ground and pound but Norte has wrist control.
Gondor with a flurry of punches that miss.
Gondor has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gondor shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gondor was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Gondor cracks Norte with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Gondor lands with some strikes.
Gondor is controlling this nicely and is looking to make no mistakes. Norte is trying to wiggle out of this horrible position. Norte flips to his side and attempts to get a leg in for half guard. Gondor anticipates the leg and manages to get behind Norte and secures both hooks! This could be bad! Gondor slips an arm under Norte chin and tries to position for a rear naked choke. Gondor has worked the choke in now and it looks tight. Gondor is squeezing on Norte like an anaconda would it's prey. Norte fails to tap and has fallen unconscious! We've got ourselves a winner by way of a rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Faramir Gondor!
