Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rory Shachner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dale Bellido!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Seu Braga and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shachner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bellido circles away.
Shachner keeps the fight on the outside.

Bellido gets a takedown into half guard.
Shachner tries to roll over but Bellido keeps him under control.
Shachner gets back to full guard.
Bellido trying to control the position from guard on top but Shachner is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Shachner has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Bellido has passed into side control.
Shachner is looking to regain half guard here but Bellido keeps moving and retains side control.

Shachner tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Bellido presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Shachner keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Bellido takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Shachner wants to hold on but Bellido pushes him away.
Shachner is trying desperately to improve position.
Bellido controlling his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bellido looking to control and managing it successfully.
Bellido's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shachner gets back to half guard.

Shachner looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Bellido pushes past his half guard into mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bellido sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Let's hope that Bellido has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dale Bellido dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Bellido with a poor takedown

so Shachner counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Shachner pushing down on Bellido's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.

Bellido has one foot on Shachner's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Shachner has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Bellido uses from the top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shachner is looking to control Bellido's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Shachner avoid being mounted?

Despite being in the dominant position, Dale Bellido just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Bellido fails with the takedown

and Shachner counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bellido won't be happy with that.

Shachner tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The strikes coming from Shachner are missing the target in this wave of attacks.

Shachner has hold of Bellido's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Bellido tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Shachner cranks the arm and Bellido screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Bellido, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Rory Shachner!
