The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nogueira throws a big shot that misses.
Nogueira shoots in for a takedown but Jacobs shows good takedown defense.
Jacobs tries to clinch but Nogueira is having none of it.

Jacobs changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Nogueira looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jacobs tries to advance to mount but Nogueira denies him.

Nogueira tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Jacobs presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Jacobs tightens his grip and picks Nogueira up, before dumping him to the ground. Nogueira manages to land in guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Jacobs avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Nogueira throws a body punch but Jacobs moves out of range.
Nogueira tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Jacobs was well out of range. Poor timing from Nogueira.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jeffrey Jacobs.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Jacobs, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
