Wong comes to the cage accompanied by Aloe Blacc - The Man. King Wong had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, King Wong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sebastian Rutten!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rutten misses with a wild combination.
Wong was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Rutten looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Rutten fails with a takedown attempt.
Rutten shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wong makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Rutten shoots in looking for a takedown. Wong tries to sprawl out of it but Rutten keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wong manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
King Wong has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sebastian Rutten.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Good work by Wong as he checks the leg kick.
Wong swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wong throws an overhand right that lands on Rutten's shoulder, as Rutten tries to avoid the shot.
Wong connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Rutten ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Sebastian Rutten seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rutten darts in looking for a takedown but Wong gets double underhooks and turns Rutten into the cage.
Wong scores with a jab.
Wong slaps away a takedown attempt from Rutten, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rutten misses with a body shot.
Rutten shoots in but Wong avoids the takedown attempt easily.
A little feinted left hand from Wong on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Rutten staying out of range there.
And Rutten tries to counter it with a takedown but Wong pushes his down on his head and steps out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rutten uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Wong.

Rutten clinches up against the cage.
Rutten is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Wong is defending well.
Wong wants to break the clinch but can't.

Rutten pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Wong swings widly with a right hand

so Rutten counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rutten prevents Wong from getting back to his feet.
Wong knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rutten on the ground.
Wong wants to hit a switch here but Rutten passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Wong there!
Rutten looking to ground and pound his opponent to a finish here.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rutten is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Rutten!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sebastian Rutten!
During a confident post fight interview, Sebastian Rutten thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
The defeated King Wong had this to say: 'Train hard, Figt harder! Will beat, next fight! I King Wong!'.
