Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Alan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antonio Alves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alan kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Fucking Hostile by Pantera. Antonio Alves acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, James Alan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Antonio Alves! The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Seu Braga and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Alves keeps the fight on the outside. Alan throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
It looks like Antonio Alves has been cut. Alves wants to clinch and Alan counters by clinching up. Alves jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alan walks away with a smile on his face. Alves gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Alves has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Alves there as he acknowledges the shot. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Alan shoots for a takedown but Alves saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Alan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Alves escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Alan gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Alves is looking for a triangle but Alan pushes his legs off easily.
Alan postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Alves is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Alan, into his guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves slips nicely into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Alan is just riding it out for now. Alves eventually gives up the hold. The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Alan trying to control but Alves postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Alan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Alves throwing shots but Alan is blocking nicely. Alves is trying to control the action in half guard but Alan is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Alan dominated that round. The cut man is working on Antonio Alves's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Alan looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Alves! Alves really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Alves tries to hold on but Alan pushes him away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is working to get back to half guard.
Alves is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Alan throws a strike there. Alves manages to avoid it well and slips a leg under to get to half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Alan sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Alves defending well though.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Alves closes the distance and clinches up with Alan, looking for a takedown. Alves pushes Alan against the cage but Alan circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Alan clinches up against the cage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Alan's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Alves darts in trying to clinch and Alan counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Alan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Alan missing with the ground and pound from half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alves wants to get back to full guard but Alan has mounted him! Alan looking to land elbow strikes but Alves uses the position to regain half guard. Alves is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Alan pulls his head out easily. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Alan dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Antonio Alves's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Alves walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Alan tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Alves counters with a nice double leg into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Alves throws and elbow that misses. Alan uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Alves's guard. Nice move by Alan!
That's one minute gone in the round. Alves is trying to hold Alan in close to prevent damage but Alan has managed to pass into half guard.
Alves looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Alan pushes past his half guard into mount! Alves regains half guard. Alves wants to get back to full guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Alves gets back to full guard.
Alan is looking to work some ground and pound but Alves has wrist control. Alan in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Alves has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Alan can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Alves throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Alan escapes and throws Alves's legs to the side, diving into side control! Antonio Alves has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Alan decides to take the fight back to the feet.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Alan connects with a good right hand that stumbles Alves. Alves circles away out of range and recomposes himself. James Alan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Alves tries to clinch there but Alan circles away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Alan lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
And that's the end of the fight! James Alan showed his dominance in that final round. Well Alan has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
