Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Martini Albatross (ranked 3367 p4p, 298 weight class) and Pen Renny (ranked 3382 p4p, 302 weight class). Renny has chosen Fight to death as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Albatross clinches with his opponent.
Renny is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Renny breaks the clinch.
Renny looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Renny has managed to clinch.

Albatross breaks the clinch.
Albatross dips to his left and cracks Renny with an uppercut!

Renny shoots in and bounces Albatross off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Albatross is controlling Renny's posture.

Albatross working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Renny has passed into half guard!
Renny with the ground and pound but Albatross uses the opportunity to regain guard.

Albatross tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Renny smiles and moves away.

Albatross has closed the distance and engaged Renny in a clinch.
Albatross goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Albatross escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Renny fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Renny tries to score a power double leg takedown but Albatross sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Renny somewhat.
Martini Albatross has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pen Renny.
Albatross uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Renny has time to react.

Albatross has managed to clinch.

Albatross breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Albatross moves into range and clinches up with Renny.
Renny is trying to drag Albatross to the mat but Albatross just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
This has been an exciting period of action!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Albatross is looking to reverse the position.
Renny postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Albatross is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Albatross 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Renny tries to keep at a distance but Albatross has taken the fight into the clinch.
Renny tries to pull guard but Albatross won't allow it.

Renny is fighting off a takedown attempt but Albatross is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Renny to the mat. Renny regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

Renny is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Albatross tries to close the distance and clinch up but Renny swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Albatross throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Renny was covering up waiting for the punch and Albatross finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Renny is looking to stand back up but Albatross counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Renny.

Albatross tries to pass the half guard into mount. Renny knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Albatross is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Albatross is taking a breather. Renny says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Martini Albatross overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Albatross throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Albatross passes to side control.
Albatross tries to advance to mount but Renny denies him.
Renny can't do much from the bottom here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Albatross decides to stand back up.
Renny fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Renny tries to score a power double leg takedown but Albatross sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Renny somewhat.
Albatross throws a quick counter head kick but Renny was just out of range.
Albatross is looking to clinch.
Renny avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Renny unleashes a big counter combination but Albatross bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Renny will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's time! Albatross 's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

Renny takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Albatross closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Renny quickly recovers to half guard.
Renny wants to get back to his feet.
Albatross perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Renny will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
