Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Carmine Lumino!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Michelangelo Di Lodovico!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lumino misses with a body punch
and Di Lodovico counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Di Lodovico shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Lumino tries to keep at a distance but Di Lodovico has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lumino has a couple of punches blocked by Di Lodovico.
A right hook to the body lands for Di Lodovico.

Lumino tries to pull guard but Di Lodovico forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lumino has been working on his balance at Rio Fight Academy, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Di Lodovico.
Di Lodovico pushes Lumino back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
A short body shot lands from Di Lodovico as the two fighters clinch.
Lumino tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Di Lodovico stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Lumino is fighting off a takedown attempt but Di Lodovico is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Lumino to the mat. Lumino regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Lumino looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Di Lodovico engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Di Lodovico slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Lumino is trying to get back to half guard.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Lumino gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Lumino tries to reverse the position but Di Lodovico maintains control.

Let's hope that Di Lodovico has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lumino regains half guard.
Di Lodovico takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Di Lodovico is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Lumino is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Di Lodovico fails to take his opponent's back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Di Lodovico is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Lumino has given up his back.

Di Lodovico has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Lumino is defending well but eventually Di Lodovico manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Lumino has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Michelangelo Di Lodovico!
An out of breath Michelangelo Di Lodovico thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
