Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrel Chan (ranked 24406 p4p, 0 weight class) and Raul Frank (ranked 3313 p4p, 0 weight class). Raul Frank will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Darrel Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Raul Frank!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Paulsen Ambrosius and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Frank scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Chan trying to control here.

Chan kicks Frank off and gets back to his feet.

Frank closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Chan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Frank is on him like a limpet, forcing Chan back against the cage.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Frank has clasped his hands together around Chan's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

Chan sneaks out the side door and pushes Frank away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Chan bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Frank shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Frank was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Frank swings around for an armbar but Chan sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Frank's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chan slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Chan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Frank's guard.

Frank is defending against the submission attempts here by Chan.

Chan is looking to take a break and control but Frank is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Chan is working for a submission of some sort.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Chan is trying to work for a kimura but Frank is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chan tries to pass the half guard into mount. Frank knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Chan is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Frank doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Chan.

Frank looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Chan is trying to work for a kimura but Frank is defending well.
Frank is refusing to be controlled, as Chan sits in half guard.
Chan looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Chan is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Frank defends it well.
Frank really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Chan is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Chan gets caught flat footed, as Frank shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Chan has his feet on Frank's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Darrel Chan dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Chan has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Frank is on him like a limpet, forcing Chan back against the cage.

Chan jumps guard.
Darrel Chan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Chan keeping moving, preventing Frank from controlling successfully.
Frank in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Frank looking to sit in guard and control but Chan gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Frank can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Chan controls the pace.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Chan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Frank can do to turn this around?
Frank tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Chan is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Frank has his foot on Chan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chan works his way back into a safe position though.
Frank is breathing heavily.

Chan drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Frank dives on top into guard.

Frank wants to stand and escape but instead Chan has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.


That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chan is in close to Frank's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Chan postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Frank looking for a triangle here. Chan is fighting it but it looks tight! Frank pulls the arm across and this one won't last much longer! Nope, Chan is tapping out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:38 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Choke). Raul Frank!
