Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Buster McDiggle! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Andrew Frame! The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frame misses with a straight right. Frame swings away with a leg kick that misses. Frame throws a shot from downtown. McDiggle moves away and avoids it. McDiggle misses with an uppercut
and Frame makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. A jab from Frame misses. It looked like McDiggle was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Frame. A low kick from McDiggle is predictable there and Frame counters with a one-two to the body. McDiggle misses with a shot to the body and Frame counters with a nice uppercut. Frame throws a nice looking combination but McDiggle bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. McDiggle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Frame.
McDiggle checks a low kick from Frame. Frame throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
That's one minute gone in the round. McDiggle throws a leg kick and Frame counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. A big left from Frame misses. McDiggle tries to counter with a takedown but Frame is quick to defend against it. McDiggle misses with a low kick.
Frame misses with the combination.
Frame fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
A combination from Frame does no damage. Frame takes a swing at McDiggle's ribcage but misses. Frame looks to land a right hand but McDiggle moved out of range. Frame throws out a token jab with nothing on it. Frame misses with a wild body shot.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frame blocks a low kick nicely. Frame swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made. Frame throws a leg kick and McDiggle counters with a nice double leg into side control. Frame won't be happy with that. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Frame is positioning himself to get back to half guard. Frame wants to control but McDiggle postures up. Check out the look on McDiggle's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Frame regains half guard. The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. McDiggle connects with a nice short shot to Frame's temple. Frame has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. McDiggle is working away from the top position though. McDiggle has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. McDiggle throwing shots but Frame is blocking nicely. McDiggle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Frame is looking to control McDiggle's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Frame avoid being mounted?
That's three minutes gone in the round. Frame keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Frame looks like he's trying to stand up.
McDiggle missing with some ground and pound from the half guard. McDiggle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Frame defending well though. Frame is looking for a sweep. McDiggle is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Frame keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount. Frame on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. McDiggle is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
McDiggle lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt. Frame taking some punishment here, with McDiggle in his half guard. McDiggle is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McDiggle tries to pass to full mount but Frame defends it. McDiggle sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Frame defending well though. McDiggle working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Frame moves into full guard.
McDiggle passes Frame's left leg - he's now in half guard. Frame controlling the position well. McDiggle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Frame tries to get to full guard but McDiggle has control of the leg. McDiggle is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Andrew Frame will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Frame misses with an uppercut. Frame misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Frame tests McDiggle's chin there with a solid looking shot. Frame throws a low kick but McDiggle avoids it. Frame dips down and scores with a jab to the body. McDiggle seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym. Andrew Frame seems to be getting the better of the standup. Frame throws a combination but it was largely blocked by McDiggle. McDiggle tries to counter with a takedown but Frame is quick to defend against it. Frame keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Frame has been the more effective fighter overall so far. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Frame lands a leg kick that knocks McDiggle off balance momentarily. Frame pivots, looking for a leg kick but McDiggle is out of range and Frame settles back down. McDiggle fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. McDiggle attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
That's one minute gone in the round. Frame throws a poor cross that misses
and McDiggle counters with a straight punch to the midsection. McDiggle swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Frame attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin. Frame clobbers McDiggle with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. McDiggle blocks a jab. A big right from Frame misses. Frame misses with a looping right. McDiggle half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range. Andrew Frame seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. McDiggle displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Frame throws out the jab. McDiggle attempts a counter takedown but Frame avoids it well and moves away. A looping hook to the body misses from Frame. McDiggle does a little dance to reset his feet. McDiggle feinted with a counter takedown. Frame throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frame takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Frame looks to land a left hand but McDiggle moved out of range nicely. McDiggle feinted with a counter takedown. McDiggle fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Frame misses with a right hand and McDiggle counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Frame seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. McDiggle throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McDiggle wants to pass the guard but Frame is keeping the position. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. McDiggle distracts Frame with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm. McDiggle working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Frame's head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McDiggle throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. McDiggle landing with the ground and pound. Frame wants to stand and escape but McDiggle is having none of it. McDiggle lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. McDiggle throws a strike but Frame rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top. Frame content to stall in guard here. McDiggle looking to hit a scissor sweep but Frame is one step ahead there. Frame must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. McDiggle has his feet on Frame's thighs here. He's pushed Frame off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Frame screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
